Faridkot, owes its name to the famous Muslim Sufi mystic Sheikh Baba Farid whose work has also found place in the Holy Granth Sahib. Faridkot has many fine buildings, foremost among them being the former Secretariat building now housing the Distric Courts, Guest House, Clock Tower, Darbar Ganj and the Stadium. The former Ruler's palace is situated inside the town. Its Fort is famous for its mirror-work and wall-paintings. |
